Small acid unit for test
Depending on the composition of the chemicals used, Neutra‘s acid surface finishing units are suitable for cleaning, polishing or the hardening of glass, i.e. increasing its tensile strength. Small flaws and areas of unevenness can be smoothed out in this way, or the glass can be dereflected or provided an increase in light transmission. At the same time, surface tension can be reduced through transformation of tensile stress into compressive stress.
An optical surface change can also be achieved in rounded objects, such as curved lenses or pipes. The concept behind Neutra‘s units also makes them suitable for use on items with large surfaces and in batch production.

Acidic wastewater is an invariable by-product in the surface finishing of glass and metal. Neutra‘s state-of-the-art wastewater neutralisation units help protect the environment and recover valuable materials.
The process wastewater is neutralised through addition of lime milk to precipitate the acidic constituents, after which it is pumped into a receiver tank and then pressed through a cloth on a filter drum for separation into solid and liquid fractions. The liquid fraction is then either piped to an industrial process water tank for use in further neutralisation cycles or discharged into the sewage system, while the filter cake made up of solid constituents can be recycled or dumped at hazardous waste landfills. Depending on requirements, Neutra supplies semi- and fully-automatic units complete with an integral control system.
